Silver Highway
You claim me like thirst- tasting of the promises of doom…
You run through my veins- slow, serpentine, poisonous
I let you flow through me.
This throbbing need for you… I beg… I convulse…
I give in to the wild throes...
I lie in the squalor.
Claim me, take me... i scream
But you stand and mock
You laugh… reveling in your mendacity
You do not let me into your world
You do- you do- refuse me
penurious… genuflecting…
Yet you do not carry me- heartless seducer.
I have borne the seasons of hell
and I carry you… and I carry you
to places I can no longer be.
Enslaving me… enthralling me… you made a mockery
out of me…
Tranquilised I lie… now you have me
at your will.
Once i had you... now you have me
at your will...
I see you succeed... but i know you'll never win
I struggle no more… peace! peace!
I give in… peace!
Some day I’ll leave you…
Some day I’ll leave you…
But it’s not today that I will.
